Bedmo Flora & Fauna (and pegs)

Apart from the fact that a tree appears to be growing in our back garden (plus the realisation that we really should get some weed killer), the most interesting change in my latest 'time-lapse' shot has to be the appearance of the Pegs court.

Yes, Pegs is back for a new season, and as you might have noticed (if you are really very sad) there is a new scoring pot available for the new season... With no more than a six-inch diameter, the elevated terracotta gotcha provides competitors with a valuable six-point option. We've already seen some epic encounters as competitors from as far afield as Kingswood (i.e., Neil) have taken advantage of England and Wales' warmest April since records began to compete for the chance to become the undisputed pegs champion. A crown, which is currently proudly held by myself.

I thank you.

So, anyway, what do you make of this?

A bit of moss? A swarm of ants?

How about this?

Any thoughts? OK, how about this?

It's gotta be baby spiders!

Nice BBQ by the way. It looks familiar.....

Oh, and Pegs 2007 sounds great. At this rate you are gonna have to purchase some sort of crappy Pegs trophy for the season winner, which they can then dust over the winter months.

Looking forward to rattling in a few 6 pointers come July. I'm practising with paper and a bin.

Those mini-spiders have been fascinating to watch, and their progress will no doubt be updated in due course.

Bristol City's promotion to the championship, and Em's birthday celebrations at Alton Towers will be blogged later this week though, once I've ploughed through the remaining 2000 words of my incredibly dull 3000 word essay (yawn).

Mike, I would suggest that practising with paper is a bad idea as the flight is completely different. Get yourself a pack of Singapore pegs and I'll send you the court measurements. It would be good if you put up more of a contest this year...
